Sculptor Charlotte Tate is a child of the world, which is reflected in the broad appreciation of her work. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, to a family of English immigrants, she was raised on three continents, including Australia and the United States.
As evidenced by the complexity of everything from Charlotte's art to her accent, she is the product of global experience and education. Her art career began at a young age studying the human form through drawing and painting. That passion evolved over time to sculpture in ceramics and concrete.
Charlotte eventually settled in Georgia, where she lives today with her husband and three sons. She became a U.S. citizen in 2014 and works out of her Creekside Crossing Studio in Johns Creek, north of Atlanta.
